The Blue Carpet Premiere

Yes, you read that right, the carpet was BLUE not red. Just another one of Fox's unique publicity stunts. As well as the blue carpet, they also had a bunch of dancers dressed in silver who were performing various acts on silver podiums. It is 2.23 am here right now, and so I am not going to post all of my thoughts. I just wanted to direct you to our image gallery though, as we have posted our pictures from tonight. These include some really nice shots of the cast, as well as fans and the venue. Enjoy!

Check out the photos here - we hope you like them! Please comment and tell us what you think...

Interviewing the Cast

We've uploaded video of our exclusive interviews with the four heroes of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which took place in individual pods of the London Eye during press for the film's world premiere. Although the Eye comes under threat during the movie, we felt safe with the likes of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing around!

You can read more about our interview experience, and watch video of Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd and Chris Evans speaking to us in the full story!

Morphing into the Fantastic Four

Fox have a really kept us occupied over the past couple of days. We've seen the movie, interviewed the cast on the London Eye, cruised the river Thames and more.... Yesterday, they gave us the unique opportunity to become a character from the movie, so of course we jumped at the chance.

Due to the fact that this article contains a shockingly scary image of yours truly, you will have to click the link below to view. You've been warned!

Rise of the Silver Screening

In order not to spoil the film for fans, I'm going to avoid adding information that would really give things away.

Although this review isn't written out formally as a proper review, I think this will give fans a look at what they can expect of the film. I can't tell every person whether they will like the film, but hopefully it is an opinion that - as a fan - other fans can identify with knowing that I had many of the same interests and concerns going in, not just in reviewing another film.

Sunday is My Birthday

It actually is. Today, June 10th, is my birthday. For my birthday this year, I decided I didn't want to spend the night with family or friends, or a combination of the two, cutting a traditional cake as the people around me sang the 'Happy Birthday' song out of key. Instead, I wanted to try something new. For this reason, they decided to make a second Fantastic Four (which they had to carefully plan a year in advance), launch it in the middle of June (they originally gave it a July date to try and fake me out) and hold a press screening on my birthday. Amazing, huh?

In reality, I guess you and I both know that Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was not planned as a birthday gift to me. However, today really is my birthday, and I intend to celebrate with the best cake room service can offer.

Unlike our trips abroad, this trip was almost just around the corner, which meant it required very little in the way of travel. In a way, this has been a blessing, because it eliminated the need to rise well before the dawn, catch a bus to the airport - hoping we arrived at the right place, given we'd gotten on the bus with eyes half-closed with sleep - and endure a flight that always lasts just long enough for your ass to fall asleep and a crick to form in your neck.

I might not make travel sound glamorous, but secretly I really like it. I love the fact that you can step into a giant metal 'bird', possibly fall asleep for a few hours, and wake up in a new country. It's a bit like finding the country in your wardrobe, only with a longer trip, and little bags of pretzel sticks.

Not to mention, the best part of travelling is reaching your destination, especially when that destination is a trip to be involved in press for the films I love. Don't let my whining fool you; our trips so far have been amazing, and I've had the good fortune of meeting very lovely people and making some amazing friends.

It was after a relatively short two-hour bus trip that we arrived in London, a city that neither of us are unfamiliar with, and trudged our suitcases and other effects (well, I trudged - I guess I do the walking, as Ben Grimm says) onto the tube. We sweated our way to Waterloo station, and after a few wrong turns we found our way around to the hotel. And while I'm looking forward to the movie screening tonight, it definitely comes second to the air conditioning that's offering relief from the London heat.

I'll be back after the screening to post my thoughts!

Arriving in London

After two and a half hours of travelling, we have finally arrived at the hotel and checked into our room. It is a really hot day in London today, very stuffy, and it was a relief to make our way into the room and find that it had the best air conditioning - ever. Going back to the journey for a moment, we actually saw several posters for the movie on the way down, as well as a gigantic billboard with the Silver Surfer flying out of it. I have a blurry picture of it that I will post on Flickr.

I can hardly believe that I will be seeing the movie in roughly two hours, and that the long wait will finally be over. I am going in to the theater very excited, and I really hope to come out with a huge grin on my face. I'll post more about that once I have seen the film though...

From our room you can see the London Eye very clearly, and I have to say that it has gotten me even more nervous about conducting the interviews with the cast tomorrow. For those of you who aren't aware, I am going to be interviewing Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd individually. The twist however, is that the interviews will all be conducted during a ride on the London Eye. I hate heights, and I have never interviewed someone on camera before, so I am extremely nervous about doing the whole thing. Fingers crossed that it goes well.
